Rosemary for better brain function

March 19, 2012 Leave a comment

20 healthy volunteers were tasked to perform cognitive functions in an area infused with the essential oil of rosemary.  The key constituent is 1,8-cineole, and in this case the more concentrated the better the performance!    There was a less significant correlation when it comes to mood as well.

Thank god my order from Young Living just arrived with Rosemary in it!

Toenail fungus…boo

March 14, 2012 1 comment

I know this is not what you want to look at it, I don’t either.  But what I do like about it is that the low level of funal infection (in yellow) is slowly growing out!!  I had applied some essential oils, Lavender I think, and really didn’t expect anything to change, so imagine my surprise when it did!

Now I don’t know if this will work on really bad fungus, though when I apply cedarwood I do see the the white powdery stuff you get when you get in a pool with chlorine, like they really are dying off.    Update you in a few month’s when you can actually see a different.

If it hasn’t helped I just purchased a 5 toe nail fungus removing thingy from a podiatrist and Groupon. Will update on that too.

Raindrop technique

March 11, 2012 Leave a comment

I did my first raindrop technique on my mom.  I did a  lot of talking because it would help me figure out what I’m doing.  You’re really supposed to be in a calm connecting state.  So that was good.  Then a few days later, I got to practice on my first non-family member!

I love how all bodies are different, and I love how it makes me connect to notice this individuality.  This timeI was working in a temporary space under time constraints.  So I did end up not doing any neck stretches, and I probably do have to adjust my technique or at least table height, because I really am into it.

I really liked the beginning where you connect to and equalize the energy of the client.  I’m feeling more confidence in myself and looking forward to the next client!

Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS)

Explains SOOOO many things, and why all these fabulous doctors were unable to help me get better.  Unfortunately Dr. Pocinki is not taking any new patients and there is NO waiting list. 😦  Basically it is a collagen disorder, that leads to problems manifesting in many systems of the body, gastric, autonomic, anxiety etc.

Frankincense fights cancer but also depression and anxiety!

March 6, 2012 1 comment

There are several articles some on pubmed that indicate that Boswellia Carteri grown in southern Arabia and parts of eastern Africa has been known to cause cell apoptosis in cancer cells.  Fascinating!

However burning frankincense can also help with depression and anxiety too.  This article from Science Daily says that certain ionic channels presumably that help transport substances through the cell wall are doing this with some particular substance that is helpful to brain cells and alleviates depression and anxiety.
